This book was a mine of information, easy to read and with steps to follow for a book launch。 Great information!
Heather Scarlett,
This is such a useful and practical book。 I love the humor that is infused in the book because it feels like Elanna is talking right to me。 She makes everything sound so relatable and gives me confidence in my planning for launch。
Jennifer Eaves,
So, I'm going to be honest here。 I love Elana's work。 Both her nonfiction and her fiction works。 If you've been an author for a big, then you know she's one of the top dogs in the industry。 When she talks, I listen。 This book is right up there with T Taylor's 7 figure fiction book。。。 the one that just released。 Yeah。 It's that useful in my opinion。In Writing and Launching a Bestseller, she covers: *How to find reader expectations for the genre*Setting a goal for your series*Information about the So, I'm going to be honest here。 I love Elana's work。 Both her nonfiction and her fiction works。 If you've been an author for a big, then you know she's one of the top dogs in the industry。 When she talks, I listen。 This book is right up there with T Taylor's 7 figure fiction book。。。 the one that just released。 Yeah。 It's that useful in my opinion。In Writing and Launching a Bestseller, she covers: *How to find reader expectations for the genre*Setting a goal for your series*Information about the actual writing part*How to package your product properly*LOADS of marketing (both Wide and KU info)*Plus a few other key thingsI'm not a big fan of craft books。 I've bought more recently just to see how they are, but others I've read in the past left me feeling like someone just wanted my money。 Or that they really thought I was an idiot and had no idea how to do anything。Elana's book doesn't do that。 I felt like I was taking a journey through her process。 Through things she's done to make herself a bestseller。 Some things I'd heard before。 Some I knew subconsciously。 But the way it's packaged makes me feel like it's all brand new。 And there is quite a bit of wisdom in here。 I think I highlighted something on almost every single page。 I couldn't help myself though。 It felt like each part was worded in just a way to help me better understand how - when pieced together properly - I could also become a bestseller。 For reference, I make a solid four figures and have doubled what I brought home in a traditional job role。 I still found this book helpful。 I don't think this is a beginner/intermediate/advanced type of book。 Anyone could pick it up and find something useful。 I did receive an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review。 The day it hit my inbox I read it in one sitting。 In the middle of a deadline。 IN THE MIDDLE OF A DEADLINE。 That book was in a new subgenre and I was super worried about how it would do。 After reading the book, I went on to finish it confidently, implementing a few things she mentioned, and it has some of the highest praise I've seen。 New and old readers are loving it。 Do with this review what you will。 You may find it helpful and snatch up the book。 You may think, "Oh, she's just another fangirl who drank the KoolAid" - to which I'd say。。。 It's really good KoolAid。 No, but seriously。 You know your business goals。 You know what you need to do as a next step。 The decision is yours。 What's a few extra dollars and a couple hours of time if it could help improve how you do business? To me, the answer is simple。 It's worth it。 How will you choose? 。。。more
Reagan Davis,
Another great resource from Elana。 When Elana speaks (or writes), I listen (or read) because she knows her stuff。 Elana has a way of breaking down overwhelming concepts into easy-t0-understand bite-size pieces。 She uses real-life examples to demonstrate concepts and her writing/teaching style is engaging。 Her systems transcend genres and are applicable––or adaptable––to where ever you are in your author journey。 One of my favourite perks: she speaks to both KU and wide authors。
Marika Ray,
I'm a fan of Elena's no nonsense, logical advice about writing and publishing。 This book had her normal conversational tone (and tons of metaphors, to which I giggled quite a few times), and loads of practical advice。 It took me awhile to get through it, not because it was boring or overly long because it wasn't, but because I stopped to make lists, do the pre-writing market research, update my spreadsheets, and formulate my own launch timeline based on the advice in this book。 After quite a few I'm a fan of Elena's no nonsense, logical advice about writing and publishing。 This book had her normal conversational tone (and tons of metaphors, to which I giggled quite a few times), and loads of practical advice。 It took me awhile to get through it, not because it was boring or overly long because it wasn't, but because I stopped to make lists, do the pre-writing market research, update my spreadsheets, and formulate my own launch timeline based on the advice in this book。 After quite a few launches, you tend to forget the small (and even the large!) details that can make a big difference。 Specifically, the way Elena breaks down small, medium, and large launches is perfect for someone like me who writes a lot, but can't possibly put my all into every single launch。 Permission granted to not need to! lol I firmly believe in improving my craft and my marketing on a regular basis, and if you do too, this book will definitely help。 。。。more
Catherine L Miller,
Thoroughly absorbing but many, many characters。 I always enjoy this series!
Fatima Fayez,
This book is another great entry in the Indie Inspiration series by Elana Johnson。 It breaks down everything you need to know about writing and launching a bestseller in easy-to-digest segments。 Elana is the real deal, do yourself a favor and grab this book if you want to set yourself on the path to success。
Kathryn Hearst,
I've read a metric ton of marketing and craft books, and hands down, Elana's are the best。 This one was no exception。 I loved how she organized the content into easy to reference chunks, starting with things to consider before you type the first word and ending with not one, but three different launch strategies (and how to use them all when launching a series。) The one thing that makes this book unique is there's no BS。 She's honest, presents alternatives, and encourages authors to find a way t I've read a metric ton of marketing and craft books, and hands down, Elana's are the best。 This one was no exception。 I loved how she organized the content into easy to reference chunks, starting with things to consider before you type the first word and ending with not one, but three different launch strategies (and how to use them all when launching a series。) The one thing that makes this book unique is there's no BS。 She's honest, presents alternatives, and encourages authors to find a way that works for them。。。 Back to the honesty。 This is the first authoring book I've read that gets real about learning your craft。 A crappy book isn't going to sell, no matter how much money the author pours into marketing, covers, etc。 I love that she encourages, and included resources, improving your craft throughout your career。Speaking of resources, holy cow。 Elana went above and beyond providing further reading, launch plan spreadsheets, and links to her website and facebook group for indie authors。 。。。more
Carolyn Miller,
This is the book I knew I needed before launching my new indie series。 It takes the author through practical step-by-step details on how to launch a book, taking away the guesswork and fear, with Elana’s typically accessible and engaging style。 I read it in a few hours, highlighting many particularly pertinent sections that I’m sure to revisit with future launches。 I feel far more equipped and confident about my book launch having read this book。 Thanks Elana。
